About Us

The New York City Prevention Resource Center (NYC-PRC) works with communities in the five boroughs to build and strengthen local community partnerships.  These collaborative groups work to develop an evidence-based strategic approach towards addressing community factors that drive alcohol, substance drug abuse and problem gambling behavior.

The PRC addresses the needs of each community by transferring essential prevention knowledge across systems while integrating current prevention science to practice. We provide technical assistance offering prevention providers and community members:

  • Individual and group consultation
  • Professional development seminars & trainings
  • Access to prevention-related news & information
  • Community building guides and publications

The New York City Prevention Resource Center is a partnership between the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), and The Children's Aid Society.
