Jan 31 2008
On Sunday, March 2, 2008 at 3 p.m., an astonishing array of musical talent will join forces onstage at the Broadway Presbyterian Church for a concert to benefit the tuition-free music programs of The Children’s Aid Society.
Where: Broadway Presbyterian Church, 601 West 114th Street (Broadway), Manhattan.
When: Sunday, March 2nd, at 3 p.m.
Tickets: $20 ($10 students and seniors) at the door on the day of the event. Online ticketing is now closed.
Inspired by the mission of Children’s Aid, acclaimed Metropolitan Opera soprano Anne-Carolyn Bird will be joined by fellow stars of the international music scene in an afternoon of varied music celebrating children and childhood.
The concert will feature Sopranos Anne-Carolyn Bird (The Metropolitan Opera) and Martha Guth (Santa Fe Opera); Mezzo-Sopranos Leah Wool (The Metropolitan Opera) and Jamie Van Eyck (Wolf Trap Opera); Tenor Jeremy Little (The Metropolitan Opera); Baritones Christopher Burchett (New York City Opera) and Alexander Hurd (Ravinia Festival); Pianists Jocelyn Dueck (Glimmerglass Opera), Carrie-Anne Matheson (The Metropolitan Opera), and Djordje Nesic (Houston Grand Opera); Hexagnolist Ljova (Silk Road Ensemble); Romashka Singer Inna Barmash (Yiddish Art Trio); and special guests from the Children’s Aid Chorus.
Thanks to the generosity of Broadway Presbyterian Church and the Sing for Hope artists, who are donating their performances, all of this concert’s proceeds go directly to support the Music Programs of The Children's Aid Society.
A non-profit organization consisting of artists who donate their time and talent, Sing for Hope facilitates the connection between artists and charities, and provides a network of support. Sing for Hope events benefit communities in need through the transformative power of the performing arts.
