Overview

During the summer months, The Children's Aid Society offers an extensive selection of educational, recreational and cultural programs across 17 locations in Manhattan, the Bronx, Westchester and Staten Island.

Children's Aid summer camps not only help to keep children safe, but introduce fun, engaging and intellectually stimulating activities that counter "summer slide," when students lose educational ground during summer vacation.

Children's Aid Summer Camps 2011

There are several different summer camp programs at The Children’s Aid Society. Here is a comprehensive list with dates, times and programs available for children. Most of camps run Monday through Friday from 9am until 4:30pm with extended day programming beginning at 8am and ending at 6pm. Please contact each site or school individually for program specifics.

  • Home Camp is a site-based program that provides activities for the children in the local community. It starts July 5th and ends August 26th. The age range of the children is 5-12 years old. The Bridge/Tween Home Camp includes children ages 11-14 at most sites.
  • Wagon Road Camp is the country camp located in Chappaqua, NY in which the children are bused to and from the camp every day from select locations in Manhattan, the Bronx and Westchester. It starts June 29th and ends August 12th. The age range of the children is 6-13 years old.
  • Alvin Ailey Dance Camp is a special dance camp in which dancers from the Alvin Ailey Dance Company provide instruction for the children in Manhattan. It starts July 5th and ends August 12th. The age range of the children is 11-14 years old.
  • Osborn Day Camp is a camp located in Staten Island in which the children are bused to and from the camp every day from select locations in Manhattan. It starts on June 28th and ends on August 19th. The age range of the children is 5-13 years old.
