Adolescent Health Services

Social and environmental stressors often impact the health of teens in economically disadvantaged communities. For adolescents, pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections are the issues. Children’s Aid has developed preventive health programs to counter the negative social and environmental factors affecting the children we serve.
WISE Teens and JAM Peers
Through these original center- and school-based programs, adolescents and their parents are provided with sexuality education and related health services and counseling.
Children’s Aid’s participation in this program ensures that teens have access to reproductive health care. Special health educators in our clinics ensure that youth not only receive the medical attention they need, but also understand the facts about healthy behavior, rather than the rumors.
Programming for adolescents includes our award-winning Carrera Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Program, a holistic youth development approach to adolescent pregnancy prevention.
