Youth Sports and Recreation

Children’s Aid youth development specialists use sports and recreation programs to engage disconnected youth in pro-social activities, encourage teens to participate in regular physical fitness and to connect community youth to other on-site services, including medical, dental and mental health care, educational support, college preparation, job readiness and counseling.
From our Community Schools’ Honor the Game basketball and coaching program, to our community centers' individualized and interest-driven sports teams and fitness instruction classes, to center-based mentoring programs that allow adults to use basketball as a tool to form meaningful connections with adolescents, Children’s Aid’s youth sports and recreation programs reflect participants’ developing needs and interests.
