Hoop Brothers
Mission
Hoop Brothers is a mentoring/athletic program that recruits African-American and Latino men to serve as mentors for youth ages 14-18.
Program Goals:
- Create caring, one-on-one mentoring relationships between men and boys of similiar ethnicities.
- Recruit mentors who illustrate the connection between professional success and educational, personal and character development.
- Teach youth the values and characteristics that lead to successful and productive manhood.
- Expose participants to a variety of positive life options and careers.
- Increase participants’ self-esteem, discipline and respect for self and others.
- Empower youth to take control of their futures.
Time Commitment
6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October through May. (Note that program does meet when school is not in session.)

College-educated Latino and African-American men between the ages of 24 and 28.
