
Membership and Outreach Committee
Overview
Membership and Outreach Committee members actively recruit and welcome new people who are interested in volunteer opportunities at The Children's Aid Society and work to ensure that each person has a positive and rewarding experience.
What We Do
In addition to attending our monthly general meeting, members are responsible for:
- serving as liaisons to various Children’s Aid Society direct service volunteer programs
- developing and implementing volunteer program evaluation protocols
- helping to foster communications between the Associates Council, direct service volunteers and the Office of Volunteer Services
- writing and presenting an annual report to the Associates Council’s Executive Committee, with recommendations for improving volunteer services
- making brief presentations about The Children’s Aid Society’s work and volunteer programs
- identifying and recruiting volunteer prospects who will help achieve diversity in our volunteer community
- assisting in cultivating volunteers who possess specific skills, including those with technical, teaching, communications and fundraising backgrounds
- staffing recruitment tables at conferences, street fairs, etc.
- posting volunteer advertisements to online and other resources
- working with the Events Committee to design volunteer recruitment and cultivation events; and
- following up with volunteers and volunteer prospects by phone and email
- Occasional teleconference meetings may be scheduled during lunch hours.
