Associates Council Events Committee

Overview
The Events Committee creates, coordinates and promotes an ambitious calendar of Associates Council and volunteer-themed events for the purposes of volunteer celebration, social networking and fundraising, including the agency's Toy Drive Party and Associates Council happy hours.

What We Do
In addition to attending our monthly general meeting, members are responsible for:

• planning themes and programs for a variety of events
• assisting in identifying venues and obtaining in-kind donations of space, food and entertainment
• cultivating sponsorships
• getting out the word about the events; inviting friends and colleagues; calling volunteers, donors and other invitees
• designing and printing invitations and program materials
• posting invitations and other event information to online and other resources
• securing raffle donations
• helping with decorations, set up, check in and other logistics and other responsibilities during events
• acting as hosts; greeting and introducing people
• making brief presentations about The Children’s Aid Society’s work and volunteer programs, and
• following up with volunteers, volunteer prospects and event attendees.
• occasional teleconference meetings are arranged during lunch hours
