Associates Council

Leaders for the 21st Century

Over twenty one years ago, The Children’s Aid Society formed the Associates Council (AC) to educate individuals about the scope and depth of programs and services offered to address the ever-changing needs of youth and families living in New York City. The mission of the Associates Council is “to develop champions that will convey the mission of the organization through both their words and deeds”.
WHO WERE ARE
Members believe that actions speak louder than words and volunteer their time as a way to give back to the community, meet new people, engage in social activities and explore new career areas. Throughout its history, Associates Council members have spearheaded and engaged in numerous initiatives, projects, and special events that have embodied the spirit of the agency and made a difference in the lives of hundreds of children and families.
WHAT WE DO
Currently, the Associates Council focuses its efforts to create, coordinates and promote an ambitious calendar of fundraising events and initiatives for the purposes of cultivating public support towards the mission of the organization, culitivating a growing nunber of active and involved volunteers, and securing in-kind donations and program resources that can benefit our staff, youth and families.

GET INVOLVED
The Associates Council meets collectively 3-4 times during the year. Workgroups communicate regularly via phone and email and are encouraged to meet face-to-face several times during the planning and completion of a project.
