The Children’s Aid Society’s work serving children and families in some of New York City’s most under-resourced neighborhoods would not be possible without people like YOU—dedicated volunteers, both individual and those from corporate groups, who give of their time to advance a noble cause: helping children realize their utmost potential.
Children’s Aid offers a variety of rewarding volunteer opportunities ranging from read-ins, enrichment activities; and holiday parties with our children, to beautification projects at our sites, to individual tutoring and fundraisers. We can arrange projects that require a one-time commitment to those that call for ongoing engagement throughout the course of a school year. Whether you have only a few hours to devote or have a more flexible schedule, you’ve come to Children’s Aid because, like us, you believe that every child, no matter what zip code they call home, has the capacity for greatness.
Here are some the ways YOU can help:
- Corporate Volunteer Events: Corporate teams support Children’s Aid’s mission through a wide variety of projects, such as our Corporate Workplace Program, Dr. Seuss parties, mural or schoolroom painting, and creating community gardens.
- Direct Service Volunteer Opportunities: We welcome and appreciate volunteers who work directly with our children and families through experiences such as tutoring or homework help.
- The Associates Council: This group of young group of professionals commit themselves to furthering Children’s Aid’s mission by hosting various fundraising events over the course of the year.
One of the primary functions of Volunteer Services is to support our more than 50 program sites throughout the city by connecting them to critical resources—most importantly, to our volunteers. We rely on volunteers like you to help us advance our vision for the children of this city—that they be armed with the knowledge and skills to realize their dreams. No dream should be out of reach for the children in our care. Thank you for helping us make our children’s dreams a distinct reality!
