Dear Friend,

We invite you to sponsor a special trip or event for the Saturday Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children and Teens at The Children’s Aid Society’s, Rhinelander Children’s Center.

The Saturday Program is the only free recreational program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing young people in New York City and is widely acclaimed by the Deaf community for offering vital social, recreational and cultural opportunities for Deaf young people from a wide variety of backgrounds. Since 1989 the program has been well known among educators and parents and recommended by schools and programs for the Deaf citywide. As a result, the program has grown each year since its establishment in 1989 with enrollment topping 150 in 2008-09.

The Deaf Saturday Program is operated by the Children’s Aid Society’s Rhinelander Children’s Center. We have consistently received the highest rating (4 Stars) from Charity Navigator – an accomplishment that only 5% of all charities can boast.

While the Saturday Program receives some funding from City government and several private foundations, it is essential that we reach out to potential new sponsors in order to keep up with growing enrollment and rising activity costs. We never want to turn children away. We welcome donations of any size to support trips to go camping, swimming, and bowling, see American Sign Language interpreted theater performances and go to museums and cultural institutions and even have holiday celebrations at our center.
