Aging Out of Foster Care
Youth Aging Out of Foster Care Face Poverty, Homelessness and the Criminal Justice System
The Children’s Aid Society believes that youth aging out of foster care have a better chance of a smooth transition to adulthood if we provide comprehensive, age-appropriate services and deliver them regularly and consistently. These services include mental and physical health care, education consulting and career services, sexuality and family planning, financial management training and mentoring and leadership training. It is very important for these services to be co-located in sites that have a youth-centered, welcoming approach.
