United-We-Stand Campaign Launches Via Facebook
PRC Joins Social Media with Underage Drinking Initiative
The Children's Aid Society NYC Prevention Resource Center launched its first social media page with the introduction of a new campaign designed to bring together parents, youth, schools, business owners, and others to prevent underage drinking by stopping the illegal sale of alcohol to youth.
United-We-Stand partners community members, local store owners, and teens to stop minors under 21 from illegally obtaining alcohol from grocery stores and reduce the over-promotion of alcohol advertising found in many lower and middle class inner city neighborhoods.
Residents can participate in a series of adult and youth led activities designed to raise awareness about the issue of underage drinking, curb the problem of easy access to liquor at grocery and convenience stores; and limit the amount of indoor and outdoor alcohol advertising.
United-We-Stand also spotlights caring and responsible merchants working to keep neighborhoods safe and healthy places to work and live.
