Rhinelander’s Guys Committee hosted its inaugural event on January 21, 2012 at the Museum of Natural History. A dozen intrepid dads and their children braved the snow and cold to visit see dinosaurs, the Hall of Mammals and much more. Congratulations to the committee on a great first outing!
June 28, 2011- Yankee Stadium Audiologists are volunteering their time to test and create impressions for Saturday Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing children. Children will receive his/her hearing aids at an event held at Yankee Stadium, courtesy of Starkey.
Teens from the Saturday Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing go to the Jersey Shore for swimming and games that promote physical fitness. It is a special event that caps off the year.
A typical Saturday Program for children includes arts and crafts and some time to play. On April 9, 2011, children made advance preparations for Easter and also visited a local park.
In January 2011, staff from the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum visited Rhinelander for a presentation. Children and Teens were also invited for a tour.
Thanks to grants from The Lotos Foundation and Hands On, deaf children and teens and their families get to enjoy a variety of American Sign Language interpreted theatrical performances. These photos were from a recent trip to New Victory Theater’s Circus Incognitus.
Santa came to visit the Saturday Program on December 18, 2010 thanks to generous sponsorships from the Hecksher Foundation for Children and Sorenson Communications.
On September 18th, families from Rhinelander's Saturday Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children and Teens attended Deaf Awareness Day at Citi Field.
