New Acting Company Summer Camp
Two-Week Intensive Theater Camps
In this outrageously fun summer playmaking intensive, students will create an original play with their peers. In just two weeks, young actors will have the chance to sharpen acting skills, play theater games, and develop unique characters as playmakers. In addition, participants will have a hand in the set, costume, lighting, sound and make-up design of the show they create. The focus is on self-expression, community building, problem solving, and understanding all aspects of theater creation. No experience required! This camp will take daily group outings to Washington Square Park, bi-weekly trips to the pool and will occasionally visit other relevant locations, to be announced to you in advance. Students must make a commitment to the entire 2-week session, including the performance. Each session has a different thematic journey.
- Session A: July 23 - August 3rd (Performance on August 3rd at 4:30 pm)
- Session B: August 6th - August 17th (Performance on August 17th at 4:30 pm)
- Days & Times: Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm
- Ages: 7- 14 yrs. Advanced acting and directing opportunities for ages 10-14 * Leaders in training
- Cost: $1,600.00 per session, or $2800 for both sessions
- Maximum Class size: 14 students per session
- Campers must supply: their own lunches, water bottle, swimsuit
- New Location: Judson Memeorial Church (entrance 239 Thompson St, NYC)
Registration Process for 2012
Registration for Summer 2012 will begin Monday, May 15th with checks made payable to The New Acitng Company. Please attach a payment in full to the registration form to reserve a space by June 22nd, 2012. Mail to: The New Acting Company/219 Sullivan street/NYC/10012. Classes fill on a first pay, first serve basis. Space is limited to 14 students per session. No summer registration form will be found online or accepted through mail.
