Nursery School Registration

Dear Prospective Nursery School Family,

We are delighted that you are considering our Nursery School program for your child. Our 2010-11 Nursery School application is now available. Applications are due December 1st. Applications received after December 1st will be placed to the side and pulled after our lottery. You may mail or drop your application off at the center (219 Sullivan Street, New York, NY 10012). Applications must be accompanied by a $50 non-refundable registration fee (check payable to the Children’s Aid Society or cash) , a copy of your child’s birth certificate and should be in the attention of: Marisa Goldsmith. Your application will not be processed until it is complete. You will receive an email once your application is processed. If you receive a spot in the Nursery School, a $2000.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is due no later than Tuesday, March 16th.

If you were unable to register for a tour you are still welcomed to apply to our program. Admission is by lottery only. We do not offer playgroups or conduct family interviews. Your child must be 2 years old by August 31, 2010. Additional Nursery School tours will be offered to families who are accepted into our program but did not have the opportunity to tour the school before contracts and deposits are made.

Please rank all of your choices. You will be enrolled in a class based on availability or placed into the waiting pool. Children will be put into waiting pools in the order that their application was pulled. Therefore, it is important to rank all choices on the application form because children will only be put into classes or on waitlists that are ranked. We do not give out waitpool numbers.

For each category we will draw each name submitted before going on to the next category. Please see below for categories. Lottery results will be mailed out on Monday, March 8th and you should receive them a few days later. Results will not be given over the phone. Financial aid is available for those who qualify. If you receive a spot in the Nursery School, a complete financial aid application must be returned no later than March 11th (a copy of your 1040, 2009 tax returns + last 3 paystubs).

If you have a older child that is currently enrolled or is an alumni of our Nursery School program and would like to enroll their younger sibling in the 2010-11 year (they must be 2 by August 31st), please fill out the Nursery School application form, and send it in along with a copy of your child’s birth certificate + $50 fee.
