
Programs
Academics
Youth in our academic programs receive tutoring support from peers and staff as well as volunteers. Sessions are designed to enrich and enhance literacy, math and writing skills.
Morning programs offer GED preparation support or other equivalency degree training for older adolescents and/or drop outs. Referrals to other agencies are also available.
Arts
Programming is available for those who want to write poetry, rap, act, sing or dance. Creative Alternatives offers drama instruction and drama therapy.
College Preparation and Scholarship Program (E.X.C.E.L)
The mission of the E.X.C.E.L. College Scholarship Program is to provide students, ages 13 to 21, with expanded educational and career opportunities through academic, social, cultural and financial preparation to college.
Employment
Corporate Workplace programs offer participation in employment programming, including individual assessments, career readiness training, and select industry-specific training.
YES Youth Employment Summer
Takes 16-17 young people (CWP Grads) and assigns them to corporations for 7-week paid internships. Debriefing groups, workplace support and enrichment trips are part of the process. At end of the program, students take a weekend trip to Dartmouth college.
Technology
Computer training includes office, web designing, computer programming, computer hardware maintenance & troubleshooting, and magazine development. A basic to immediate understanding is provided pertaining to technology, and how it can be used for job searches.
HOPE Leadership Academy Summer Institute
In the summer, youth in good standing are offered paid positions to become advanced peer educators and trainers and provide workshops to organizations that serve youth.
