11th Annual Derby Day

On Saturday, May 5th, you are invited to join with other volunteers as they work alongside local residents, staff, and many of our children and families,as we spend a fun day improving the communities of New York City. Past projects have included planting gardens, painting fences, designing community and school murals, and decorating bulletin boards. This year, there are proposals in the works for street fairs, playground cleanup, gardening and bulletin board murals.

WHERE:
Locations include the Bronx, Manhattan (Upper & Lower), and Staten Island.

TIME:
Projects usually run from 9:00am - 2:00pm. Adult volunteers are invited to meet up afterward at a local bar for a few fun hours(exact time and location to be announced).

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

  1. Contact The Office of Volunteer Services at 212-381-1173
  2. Give your full name, contact phone, and email
  3. Indicate your top 2 location preferences (ex. Manhattan, Bronx)

Once confirmed, you will receive your project assignments 3-5 days before the event. While we do our best to accommodate everyone, assignments will be based on need.

Your help will go a long way toward realizing the dreams of our facilities, meet the children we serve and get to know other dedicated volunteers already eager for this event. Together...we can sow and nurture seeds of change.
