Career Readiness Workshops
Our M.O.N.E.Y. (Making Ourselves Newly Employed Youth) program combines instruction in workplace competencies, entrepreneurship, oral and written communication skills and teamwork. MONEY's goal is to prepare participants for the world of work while enhancing their performance in school.
MONEY program facilitators follow the National Foundation on Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) curriculum, “How to Start and Operate a Small Business”, which covers topics such as introduction to entrepreneurship; opportunity recognition; marketing; market research; public speaking; return on investment; and principles of successful selling.
NGC staff have supplemented the NFTE curriculum with additional training modules focusing on developing and honing soft skills like professionalism, business conduct, customer service, handling stress, effective communication, problem-solving and mediation.
MONEY meets on Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 4:30-6pm.
Instructor: Unique Morris
