Bronx Radio Rookies stories were broadcast in October 2009 during Morning Edition on WNYC
Radio Rookies® is a New York Public Radio® initiative that provides teenagers with the tools and training to create radio stories about themselves, their communities and their world.
In October 2009 Radio Rookies partnered with the Next Generation Center.
The Bronx Rookies worked really hard these past several months to tell their stories about poverty in the Bronx, the standards in public schools, the effects of Chernobyl, incarcerated parents, and a rare debilitating disease.
