Kids & Families Will Speak Out Against Budget Cuts at 4PM
The “Stand By Our Kids!” Coalition will rally at City Hall on Wed., June 10th at 4pm to urge Mayor Bloomberg to reinstate $6 million for OST2 (Out-of-School Time Option 2) after school programs to his budget.
This cut will eliminate after school programs and educational opportunities for 10,750 youth from working class families in 88 programs citywide. Youth, families, successful graduates from these programs, and community leaders from all 5 boroughs of NYC will speak out and present the Mayor’s office with a signed petition containing thousands of signatures from people who oppose these cuts.
