Teens Twirl Spaghetti and Learn About Work

Knowing which fork to use can be a challenge for anyone. On the evening of May 26, about 30 teens ages 16 to 18 dined at Gran Piatto d’Oro, an elegant new Italian restaurant in Harlem, and showed off their business dining etiquette skills while networking with volunteers from the corporate world.

The teens are part of Children’s Aid’s Corporate Workplace Program, which aims to close the gap for motivated students between the classroom and the world of work. They have spent the semester learning about networking techniques, resume writing, interview skills and the finer points of business dining etiquette.
