Children’s Aid is top New York charity on list Ranking signifies fiscal health and respect for donors

NEW YORK – Charity Navigator, a leading charity evaluator, has ranked The Children’s Aid Society as one of its “Top Ten Slam-Dunk” charities. The ranking of four-star charities is based on a charity’s fiscal health and its respect for the privacy of donors. The Top Ten list appears on the organization’s web site, www.charitynavigator.org, where consumers can check out various charities. The Top Ten list is explained as follows:

“These 10 charities are not only tops in terms of fiscal health, but also for respecting the rights of donors. Charity Navigator has awarded each of these 10 charities a 4-star rating for both organizational efficiency and organizational capacity. Besides outperforming its peers in terms of financial management, each of these charities also has a donor privacy policy in place. This tells us that these 10 charities are committed to fiscal responsibility and to protecting the personal information of contributors."

The Children’s Aid Society, one of the city’s oldest, largest and most innovative children’s charities, is sixth in Charity Navigator’s list, making it the highest ranked New York-based charity on the national list.

“We are delighted that the highly respected Charity Navigator has recognized the efforts Children’s Aid makes to meet its expenses efficiently and responsibly,” said Philip Coltoff, CEO of The Children’s Aid Society.
