The Children's Aid Society to Host African-American and Dominican Heritage Celebration at School in Washington Heights

What:
Approximately 1,000 students, parents, staffers and members of the community are expected at a spirited celebration of African-American and Dominican Heritage at The Children’s Aid Society Community School Salomé Ureña Campus in Washington Heights.

The evening will feature exhibitions of art and costumes, Dominican and soul food, performances by jazz and folkloric bands and dance performances by students from Children’s Aid Society Community Schools in Washington Heights and East Harlem.

Eight mothers from the school have written a book about their experiences as immigrants. Copies of the book will be available at the event.
