The Children's Aid Society to Host Dominican Heritage and African American History Celebration at School in Washington Heights

What:
In a huge celebration of Dominican and African American heritage, approximately 150 elementary and middle school students from six Children’s Aid Society Community Schools across Washington Heights and East Harlem will perform at the Salomé Ureña Campus for a full-house of almost 1,000 parents and community members.

Students have prepared dances, spoken word pieces and Power Point presentations depicting their cultures. A jazz band will also perform.

The open house portion of the evening will feature displays of clothing, dolls and other cultural contributions, all created by parents and community members.
