Richard Buery Featured on NY1’s Road to City Hall

Ever since the president laid out a plan for creating universal access to pre-school in his State of the Union speech, experts across the country have been weighing in on the importance of the early years of a child’s life to future success.

Children’s Aid CEO & President Richard Buery recently participated in a panel discussion on “The Road to City Hall,” NY1’s public affairs program. On the show, he argues that social, cognitive and emotional development of low-income children is greatly supported and improved by participating in early childhood programs. But despite the success of NYC’s EarlyLearn program, early childhood programs are under-funded, and in the months ahead advocates once again face a budget battle to restore this funding to the city budget.
