NEW YORK, March 2011 - The New Acting Company, a program of The Children's Aid Society, will celebrate its 11th season with a production of Snow White, adapted from the Brothers Grimm fairytale by Kathy Keane and produced and directed by Stephen Michael Rondel.
The New Acting Company has spent the past decade creating dynamic and innovative theatrical productions through educational performance arts programming. Created and founded by Producing Artistic Director, Stephen Michael Rondel, The New Acting Company allows students to develop in areas of responsibility, trust, friendship, teamwork and self-esteem using the energy of live performance. The New Acting Company's annual professional production allows its most advanced actors an opportunity to work along side some of the best professionals working in the industry.
The New Acting company is proud to produce this original adaptation inspired by the cinematic classic. Amusement, Merriment and Glee await the whole family in this timeless tale filled with modern music, dark magic and a truth-telling talking mirror.
Josie Pelham will star as Snow White with Tanya O'Debra as the Evil Queen. Set Design by Carl Tallent, Lighting Design by Ben Tevelow, Costume Design by Mark Salinas, Choreography by Daniella Rabbani, Art Design by Margeaux Lucas, & Stage Management by Sarah Perlin. The cast is comprised of a tight ensemble of seven professional adult actors with four young up-and-coming actors trained directly from The New Acting Company program, the majority of which will be making their professional stage debut.
