It is with great sadness that The Children’s Aid Society shares the passing of David Stein, dedicated Trustee and longtime supporter.  David died peacefully yesterday, September 5, at his home.

Since 2001, David was a caring and committed Trustee and an active member of several committees. David was elected Vice Chairman of the Board in 2010, was the former chair of the Audit Committee and also served on the Executive, Finance and Investment, and Health Services Committees. David contributed his wisdom, intellect and expertise and will be remembered for the vitality of his concern and his steadfast efforts on behalf of the fragile children and families of New York City. David was also a very generous supporter of many of Children’s Aid programs and services and was a familiar face at Children’s Aid events. Our hearts go out to his wife Ellen and the rest of his family—he will be sorely missed.

In lieu of flowers, his family has requested that donations be made to The Children’s Aid Society or the Phoebe Stein Child Life Center at Montefiore Hospital.

Sincerely,

Richard R. Buery, Jr., President and CEO
Mark M. Edmiston, Chairman
Edgar Koerner, Chairman Emeritus
