This year The Children's Aid Society P.S. 8 summer campers went on a journey through the Caribbean, stopping at the islands of Haiti, Puerto Rico, Cuba and Trinidad & Tobago.

The 80 campers in the summer-long CAS/AileyCamp Washington Heights put on a wonderful end-of-camp performance for an enthusiastic audience on August 7, 2008 in Columbia University’s Miller Theater.

The Children’s Aid Society recently launched a partnership with Minyanville Publishing and Multimedia, a leading financial media company, to spread a message of financial literacy to children.

Sponsored by the Audrey Miller Poritzky Education Fund (AMPEF) for Children, The Children’s Aid Society’s Youth Speak Out on Education featured performances and presentations from teens addressing potential solutions to the New York City student drop out crisis.

Acclaimed Metropolitan Opera soprano Anne-Carolyn Bird and fellow musicians joined forces onstage at Broadway Presbyterian Church for a concert to benefit the tuition-free music programs of The Children’s Aid Society.

During this special visit to The Children’s Aid Society, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey announced the launch of a campaign of commitment for children and families in crisis who are served by the Garden of Dreams Foundation.

Artwork created by talented youth participating in art programs of The Children’s Aid Society was displayed during the 7th Annual Children’s Art show at The National Arts Club.

On June 20th and 21st, 2008 The Children's Aid Society’s Frederick Douglass Center on Columbus Avenue and 104th Street welcomed friends old and new for a joyous celebration of the center’s 50th anniversary.

After successfully bringing Youthmarkets to a Children's Aid Society community school in East Harlem, Children's Aid launched its first Youthmarket in the South Bronx on July 16, 2008.

On June 19, 2008, Con Ed’s auditorium was packed with excited high school and college students and their families, all gathered for Children’s Aid’s annual E.X.C.E.L. college scholarships and awards ceremony.
