Miracle on Madison Avenue 2009

The 23rd Annual Miracle on Madison Avenue presented by BNY Mellon on Sunday, December 6, 2009 was a shoppers’ paradise. The day kicked off with a brunch at Calypso attended by Tamara Tunie of Law and Order: SVU and Miracle 2009 Chair; Robert M. Kelly, Chairman and CEO of BNY Mellon; Matthew Bauer, President of the Madison Avenue BID; Richard Buery, President and CEO of The Children’s Aid Society; and several Children’s Aid supporters who pledged to shop till they drop. At noon, the party headed outside for the ribbon cutting ceremony which officially kicked off the day of festivities.

Shoppers on Madison Avenue from 57th to 86th Streets were greeted by balloons and signs outside shops indicating their Miracle participation. A total of 77 caring retailers agreed to generously donate 20% of the day’s sales to Children’s Aid health services which ensure full health care access and preventative care to the neediest children and families of New York City.
