The second annual Iron Go! Chefs competition was held on April 19th, 2011 at the East Harlem Center! Teams of elementary and middle school students from Children's Aid Society centers and community schools raced against the clock to cook delicous and healthy meals. On the judges panel were Children’s Aid staff, New York City Commissioner Nazli Parvisi and Radio Show host and Institute for Culinary Education instructor Chef Erica (a.k.a. Chefsmartypants) Wides.
The judges had the honor of tasting delicious meals and the difficult task of choosing award winners. The Iron Go! Chefs competition exemplified the best of Children’s Aid: programmatic innovation, project based learning, youth development, healthy eating and lifestyles, and fun!
