YES Mentoring

The Youth Empowerment for Success (YES) Mentoring Program pairs young people with trained adult volunteer-mentors from similar backgrounds in hopes of helping youth avoid further involvement in the court system.

Located at Children’s Aid’s Brooklyn PINS (Persons In Need of Supervision) Diversion Center, the YES program combines traditional one-to-one mentoring with long-term preventive counseling services that help adolescent boys and girls achieve their maximum potential in the larger community.

The role models are established professionals, often judges and lawyers, from within the community who participate in recreational, social and educational activities with their mentees twice each month. The PINS program also hosts events, such as movie nights, guest speakers and group activities for mentors and mentees.
