Employment
Corporate Workplace
The Corporate workplace program provides a series of career workshops for high school juniors and seniors from different community centers of the Children's Aid Society.
The goal of this program is to provide the students with an exposure to the business world and to introduce them to the skills necessary to succeed in the work environment.
YES Program
The Youth Employment Summer Program (YES) is a career readiness/employment program sponsored by Michael Stern. The YES Program selects highly motivated high school students from New York's inner city and places them at high profile jobs in the non-profit and for-profit arena. Some students obtain internships in the medical profession, while other spend their summer learning about the law, or investment banking.
The YES Program process begins in May when The Children's Aid Society staff identifies approximately twenty-five students who best fit the ideals of the program and have successfully completed the Corporate Workplace program.
If an individual is selected to participate, a rigorous interview process is scheduled with participating corporations. After a series of interviews, the employer selects an intern to best fit the needs of their company. YES interns started their employment after the July 4th holiday and work for a total of seven weeks.
