Teen Talk
Teen Talk is a time designed to let the teens express themselves and have a chance to discuss important life topics that are relevant to them. Participants are able to:
- Articulate their issues
- Receive other peers’ viewpoints
- Gain perspectives on life and personal issues
- Use current events to foster critical thinking
- Realize they’re not alone with the situations they are going through
Topics discussed in group include peer pressure, smoking, drinking, self-image, gangs, violence, current events, healthy relationships, hygiene as well as any topics the teens wish to add to the curriculum. Group helps participants develop a sense of security at Hope Leadership Academy by having the chance to open up and take part in respectful relationship-building with peers.
Open to young people 14-18 enrolled at Hope.
Teen Talk takes place on Wednesdays at 6pm.
