The Health and Wellness Division helps children of every age achieve and sustain optimal physical and mental health. We do this by providing high-quality, comprehensive health care and wellness services, and a range of supports that reduce health disparities among underserved children and families.
The following services are available to students at the Curtis Student Health Center:
Complete physicals (for school, sports and working papers); immunizations; acute (sick) care visits; reproductive health; management of chronic medical problems, such as asthma and diabetes; emergency and first aid; health education and counseling.
School-wide vision screenings and free
eyeglasses every school year through our Childsight® partnership with Helen Keller International.
Oral exams; preventive care (sealants and fluoride
treatments); cleanings; fillings;
referrals for braces; and school-wide
no-touch dental screenings.
Individual, family and group counseling;
crisis counseling; case management.
The School-Based Health Center at Curtis High School was built with generous funding provided by the Chancellor of the New York City Department of Education; the federal government office of Human Resources and Services Administration; private donors, foundations and local elected officials; and The Children’s Aid Society.
