Goodhue Counselor-in-Training Program
The Counselor-in-Training program is a great way for teens ages 13-15 to spend the summer. They learn about working with children while having fun with their peers. When the teens reach 16 years of age, they are given priority for employment in the camp.
The teens are involved in training sessions with topics that include:
- Recreation activities
- Developmental issues
- Discipline techniques
- Teen leadership skills
Teens work alongside the camp counselors and gain first-hand experience on how to work with children. The C.I.T's also have opportunities to participate in their own recreational activities, including swimming, sports, art and trips.
DATES:The C.I.T. program runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the 8-week summer camp.
REGISTRATION: To be eligible, teens must have completed 8th grade in good standing. Interested teens must be interviewed and complete an application with three letters of reference. Interviews begin in April.
FEE: $600.00 per child, which includes bus transportation.
