2011 Children’s Aid Society Golf Classic Recap
The 12th Annual Children’s Aid Society Golf Classic was held on Monday, May 23, 2011 at the renowned Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, New Jersey. We are honored to have held our Classic at Baltusrol for the 12th consecutive year and would like to acknowledge both the staff and management, especially Judy Mann and Doug Steffan, for providing us the opportunity to golf on one of the world’s most challenging courses. Baltusrol is the site of 15 USGA national championships, seven U.S. Opens, and one PGA Championship. In 2016, the PGA Championship will return for a second time.
Over 100 participants joined Special Guest and former New York Giant, Howard Cross (pictured above with Richard Buery, CAS President and CEO), at the Classic and in supporting The Children’s Aid Society’s work with New York City’s most vulnerable children. The 12th Annual Golf Classic kicked off with a brunch, followed by 18 holes, and ended with a cocktail reception, awards ceremony and spirited auction. In addition to purchasing auction lots including golf outings at top local clubs, ultimate dining experiences and Super Tuscan wine, over twenty guests made generous scholarship donations to help smart, motivated young people realize and achieve their dreams of higher education.
