Frederick Douglass Center

The Frederick Douglass Center provides essential services to children and families on Manhattan's Upper West Side. There's a little something here for everyone, from our Head Start program for 3-5 year olds to English-language training for adults.
The center was founded in 1958 by The Children's Aid Society. Today, more than 600 children and their families use the center each day. The facilities include a full-service library, gymnasium, outdoor playground facilities, an Intel Computer Clubhouse and after-school and nursery classrooms.
