Programs offered include:
Educational Programs
College Prep Workshops - College tours and individual advisement will be provided to college-bound students throughout the program year.
Power Hour - Volunteer tutors are available weekly or on an as-needed basis to help students become more successful in school by empowering students to become self-directed learners.
Character Development
Keystone Club – Through community service projects, entrepreneurial projects and leadership workshops, youth ages 14-18 are provided opportunities to develop into civic-minded and responsible adults.
Preps - A mentoring and personal development group for boys ages 15-18. This program provides young men with the opportunity to partner with college-educated men of color. After group discussions, mentors and youth compete in a friendly game of basketball.
Career Readiness
Job Ready – Job readiness workshops are held weekly for teens (ages 14-18). Workshops prepare young people for the world of work and life beyond the community center. Topics include: Making a good first impression, grooming, behavior and attitude in the work place.
Cultural Enrichment
Video Production Workshop – Students are taught the language and techniques of digital film-making, including aspects of, visual story-telling, continuity-style coverage, frame composition, and directing actors. Students develop group projects of increasing complexity, culminating in the writing, shooting, and editing of a final video. Projects will cover documentary, fiction, and music video genres.
Production Workshop – Students learn about music composition, song structure, sampling, and production. Using a theme important to students, such as community, expression, self-esteem, etc, students write lyrics and create songs individually and in groups. Students then create their track using current music production software and then record their song. The final project consists of a CD of the students’ creations.
Hip-Hop Dance – This energetic art form allows for creative expression and movement. Classes are provided twice per week and participants are given the opportunity to display their skill during in house shows and on the road performances. Previous shows performed at the Apollo, Black Expo, and All Star Talent Network.
Poetry Workshop - The purpose of this workshop is to open participants to the world of poetry, from traditional and formal styles to free and open modern verse. Participants will also have the opportunity to write original poems, and perform them at agency-sponsored events.

To promote fitness and to enhance social interaction, a wide range of sports and recreational activities are provided: basketball including both intramural and competitive teams, swimming, lifeguard training, and martial arts.
