Social Worker, APIP
The Family Wellness Program provides non-residential counseling and advocacy services for families affected by domestic violence at Children’s Aid Society sites in Manhattan and the Bronx.
We are seeking a full-time, Spanish speaking LMSW or equivalent, to serve as a Social Worker under a new contract to serve child-welfare involved parents with allegations of domestic violence and their families. The Social Worker will be responsible for assessing parents for history of domestic violence perpetration and risk; screening for substance abuse, mental illness and trauma; co-facilitating groups for abusive fathers in English and in Spanish; providing individual psycho-educational counseling to abusive parents; co-facilitating therapeutic visitation sessions with abusive parents and their non-custodial parents; and collaborating with children’s therapists and advocates for domestic violence survivors on the provision of comprehensive services to the family with the primary goal of safety for children and survivors.
Masters degree in social work or related field and experience working with individuals impacted by domestic violence strongly preferred. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) required.
