Family Foster Care Caseworker

Job Responsibilities:

• Carry a caseload of 15 to 18 children who are placed in foster care
• Engage birth parents to make assessments and provide referrals and interventions that will facilitate reunification with their children
• Work collaboratively service providers to insure that children's medical, mental health, educational, and social needs are met
• Provide supportive services for foster parents
• Participate in family court hearings, including giving testimony
• Participate in case conferences
• Perform field work as mandated by the Administration for Children's Services
• Maintain all necessary case record docmnentation
• Perform other duties as needed


• BA required
• Experience working with multi-problem and economically disadvantaged families
• Ability to engage birth parents with histories of tramna, substance abuse, mental illness and domestic violence; ability to identify client strengths.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication sldlls
• Ability to work with respect for cultural diversity
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
