Expedited Permanency Social Worker

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct groups such as Parenting Skills, Anger Management, etc. for birth parents whose children are in foster care
• Provide Therapeutic Visiting intervention to birth parents and their children to improve parenting skills and enhance the quality of parent-child interactions and relationships.
• Conduct Birth Parent Assessments to help identify individual and family factors which contributed to the foster care placement, and provide recommendations for
.• Collaborate with foster care caseworkers and supervisors to expedite permanency for children in foster care. Participate in case conferences.
• Perform the basic accountability tasks related to the job, which include compiling and maintaining all necessary case record documentation.
• Perform other duties as needed


• MSW with at least two years post-masters experience working with children and families.
• Strong clinical skills, including excellent engagement and assessment skills.
• Knowledge of child/adolescent development and family systems
• Familiarity with clients who are affected by issues such as substance abuse, mental illness, domestic violence, and trauma
• Group work experience.
• Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate with foster care caseworkers and supervisors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with respect for cultural diversity
• Ability to think creatively and individualize/adapt interventions to utilize family strengths and skills.
• Ability to work until 7:00pm three nights per week
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
