Children’s Aid Society is currently seeking a Caseworker who will be trained in a new evidenced-based and evidenced-informed model of foster care called ChildSuccessNYC.


• Develop and monitor service plans for families to achieve safe and timely permanency outcomes
• Attend family court hearings with written court reports and provide testimony
• Facilitate weekly groups for birth parents and foster parents
• Coordinate and supervise family visits
• Conduct field visits to foster homes and birth parents’ homes
• Maintain case compliance via data entry and record keeping
• Accompany families to necessary drug treatment, medical, school, housing, appointments as necessary
• Complete other duties as assigned


• Master’s Degree or Bachelor's Degree with two years of experience in social work or related field
• Ability to engage involuntary clients who are struggling with substance abuse, mental illness, domestic violence etc.
• Ability to conduct parenting skills groups for birth parent and/or support groups for foster parents
• Knowledge of child development, individual and family psychodynamics, and family systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• An understanding and respect for community needs and cultures
• Willing to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Willing to make field visits
• Fluency in Spanish a plus
