The Children’s Aid Society, through our National Center for Community Schools (NCCS), began providing technical assistance to the Mayor’s Interagency Task Force Every Student, Every Day Initiative beginning in 2010.


“Mind in the Making (MITM) and Community Schools: Crossing Boundaries and Creating Strong Linkages for Children Birth through Eight and for their Families,” is a collaborative project among The Families and Work Institute, the Institute for Educational Leadership and The Children’s Aid Society’s National Center for Community Schools that began in 2011 with generous support from the W. K. Kellogg Foundation.

Visitor Profile

NYC Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott, along with Youth and Community Development Commissioner (DYCD) Jeanne B. Mullgrav, visited CS 211 on July 11 to see the NYC Summer Quest. The visitors practiced with the marching band, observed a healthy cooking demonstration and paid a visit to the chicken coop on the school backyard.
