History and Program

Children’s Aid entered into a partnership with I.S. 98 in 2002.  It currently provides school-based After School, Holiday, Saturday and Summer Programs as well as Mental Health services for students.  Medical, dental and preventive services are provided by linking the schools to the nearby Children's Aid Bronx Family Center.   Parenting workshops, vocational trainings, leadership, advocacy and literacy are offered to support parents and family engagement.  Other adult education opportunities are being developed.  

I.S. 98 is named after Herman Ridder (1851-1915), a prominent German-American newspaper publisher and politician from the early 20th century.
