New York, NY – The Trustees of the Children’s Aid Society Community Charter School (CAS-CCS) will be holding its inaugural meeting on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 6-8pm at 105 East 22nd Street, New York, NY in the Executive Conference Room, Suite 102. This will be the first meeting since the approval of the school’s charter by the New York State Education Department on September 13, 2011.

The Children’s Aid Society (CAS) is proud to announce the appointment of Drema Brown to the newly created position of Vice President of Education, effective August 15, 2011.  Brown will ensure the success of CAS’s efforts to provide high-quality educational services to children living in under-resourced neighborhoods in New York City.

New York, NY, June 21, 2011 – The Children’s Aid Society (CAS) is thrilled to announce that the SUNY Charter Schools Institute and the Education, College Readiness and Success Committee of the State University of New York Board of Trustees have approved the opening of the new Children’s Aid Society Community Charter School in the Morrisania section of the Bronx. The school will open in August 2012 and begin offering Kindergarten and 1st grade classes in the fall 2012 semester for some of New York’s most at-risk students.
