Kelly Campbell

Director, CAS Chorus

Kelly Campbell is the Creative Director of the Arts Alive! Program. Her responsibilities include directing the elite choir, the CAS Chorus, as well as overseeing the various performance-based programs supported by Arts Alive! which include Theater, Musical Theater, Dance, Harmony in Harlem Jazz Band and Audio/Visual studies.

A trained opera singer, Ms. Campbell resides in New York City and works as a singer, actor, theater director and producer. Her professional opera and theater career began at the age of fourteen and has sent her to Japan, Wales, England and all over North America.

Favorite operatic roles include Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro, Katarina in Vivaldi's Ring of Mystery and Amor in The Coronation of Poppea. She has sung with Cleveland Opera and Canada's Opera Atelier and Opera Hamilton. She can be heard as Jenny on the award-winning children's recording Tchaikovsky Discovers America.

Film roles include the lead role of Sandra/Papagena in the studio feature film "The Magic Flute", as well as supporting roles in "Night For Day" and "True Romance" and numerous commercials. Ms. Campbell has performed several roles Off-Off Broadway, highlights include Maggie in "The Blue Carbuncle" and Auri in "Phil" at the WorkShop Theater Company, and Susan in "To Love and To Cherish" at Theater For The New City.

Ms. Campbell has directed several shows Off-Off Broadway, most recently she directed "Unprimed" at New York's esteemed WorkShop Theater Company, where she is also a company member. In 2010 Ms. Campbell will direct "The I Factor" at Manhattan Theatre Source.

Ms. Campbell has a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from the University of Toronto. A passionate teacher and supporter of the importance of music education, Ms. Campbell is thrilled to be working with the talented students of the Children's Aid Society.
