Katherine Eckstein

Chief of Staff

Katherine Eckstein is chief of staff at The Children’s Aid Society. She serves as a key advisor to the president and CEO, and as a member of the senior leadership team is charged with driving Children’s Aid’s cradle-through-college agenda and improving overall organizational effectiveness and accountability. She also oversees Children’s Aid’s policy and advocacy work at the local, state and national levels. Her key areas of focus include education, health, child welfare, youth development, early learning, adolescent pregnancy prevention and juvenile justice.

Eckstein began her work at Children’s Aid’s National Center for Community Schools and served most recently as Director of Public Policy. Before joining the organization, she served as Special Assistant to a Regional Superintendent in the New York City Department of Education, and Director of Adult and Family Programs and Interim Executive Director at Playing2Win, the nation’s first community technology center.

Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Eckstein earned a B.A. in Public Policy from Brown University and an M.A. in Elementary Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
